Symposium 'Finding Stories :: the Role of Immaterial Culture in City Planning'

Symposium that forms part of a workshop with colleagues from the Government of Zanzibar and the Municipality of Amsterdam. The key note lecturers are: Mr. Karim Hendili from the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. He will expand on the relevance of the Historic Urban Landscape approach. Prof. Gabri van Tussenbroek from the University of Amsterdam holds the chair of Urban Identity and Monuments. Next to the case of heritage based urban regeneration in Zanzibar, which is the focal case, also cases from Morocco, Benin, Chad and Mozambique will be presented by respectively Abderrahim Kassou, Franck Houndegla and Silje Elroy Sollien.
