This year at AFF: Crazy in Love - A Conspiracy of Clowns, a Standard Bank Ovation Award 2013 (at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa), a winning, smash-hit show. Inspired by John Irving’s Until I Find You, Crazy in Love is devised and performed by Andrew Buckland (multiple Edinburgh Festival Fringe First Winner) and Liezl de Kock (Fleur du Cap Best Actress nominee). And Siembamba takes a look at a South African phenomenon often taken for granted –the relationship between a black domestic worker and the white children she helps to raise. Various people are affected by this “arrangement” of black women leaving their own families behind to become a second mother to upper or middle class white children - especially the women's own children. Winner of a Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award 2014. Also: Nakhane Toure from Port Elizabeth.
