Wereldwijd vinden rondom Fela's geboortedag (15 oktober) feesten plaats ter ere van deze 'Godfather of Afrobeat'. Sinds enkele jaren wordt deze avond door Jungle by Night en het label Kindred Spirits georganiseerd in de hoofdstedelijke poptempel Paradiso. Dit jaar verandert ook Doornroosje in Kuti's nachtclub 'The Shrine'. Naast ‘huisband’ Jungle by Night’zijn de Ethiopische jazzlegende Mulatu Astatke en de band Karl Hector & The Malcouns te gast.

Fascinerend samenspel op harp en kora, door sterharpiste Catrin Finch uit Wales en Senegalese virtuoos Seckou Keita. ‘Hun snaren lijken innig in elkaar verstrengeld’ (Parool). Hypnotiserend, bedwelmend, majestueus, verbluffend mooi’ (de Volkskrant): superlatieven schieten tekort voor harpduo Catrin Finch en Seckou Keita. Zij komt uit Wales, hij uit Senegal. Zij is de nieuwe ster van de klassieke harp, hij is een virtuoos op de Afrikaanse harp, de kora. Hun mengvorm van eeuwenoude melodieën uit Wales en West-Afrika blijkt een gouden greep; zowel hun debuutalbum Clychau Dibon als hun live-optredens worden razend enthousiast ontvangen.
