Amsterdam Fringe Festival: Kafka’s Ape – Best of South Africa Fringe
Kafka’s Ape, a Silver Ovation Award winner at the South African National Arts Festival 2015 and 2015 Naledi Cutting Edge Theatre nominee was adapted by Phala Ookeditse Phala and is based on Franz Kafka’s A Report to An Academy. Using physical theatre to tell the story of the central character, actor extraordinaire Tony Miyambo gives an incredible and convincing performance of an ape to human transformation, provoking deep questions about what it means to be a human being.

Amsterdam Fringe Festival: Father, Father. Father! – Best of South Africa Fringe
After successfully running in Johannesburg, Cape Town and the South African National Arts Festival, Father, Father. Father! joins the Amsterdam Fringe Festival. FFF is a devised theatre piece created by Roberto Pombo, Joni Barnard and Rachael Neary, directed by Toni Morkel. The show follows the story of three sisters locked in a basement awaiting their Father’s return and the promise of a big black horse. With a heightened theatrical language and a narrative that is grounded in an Absurdist style, FFF highlights the themes of fear and control through the delicate, ridiculous and brutal relationship of three sisters.
