De Rotterdamse/Kameroenese zangeres Ntjam Rosie stond al meerdere malen op het podium van de club, maar nog niet met haar laatste succesvolle album The One. Daar komt op vrijdag 9 september verandering in. Na At The Back of Beyond, waarop Rosie haar poppy kant wilde verkennen, hoor je op The One meer soul en jazz. “Het voelt als thuiskomen. Het was een mooie reis, maar nu ben ik weer terug bij mijn roots,” aldus de zangeres die alle twaalf de songs zelfs schreef rond de tijd dat ze in het huwelijksbootje stapte. Het zijn intieme en uitnodigende songs geworden over de liefde in al haar facetten, van het romantische soort en de hogere liefde.
