Vanaf 2013 vindt Zomercarnaval plaats onder de vlag van Rotterdam Unlimited. Dit grensverleggende festival dompelt Rotterdam zes dagen lang onder in de nieuwste ontwikkelingen uit de grote stad op het gebied van muziek, dans, letteren, theater en carnaval. Naast Zomercarnaval zijn inmiddels de Zuid-Afrikaanse bands Bittereinder en Skip&Die, de Kaapverdische zanger Nelson Freitas, de Ghanees/Amerikaanse hiphopster Blitz The Ambassador toegevoegd aan de line-up.
