This documentary – with fantastic music – takes you into the lives of artists who deploy their talent to fight oppression. Step for a moment into the life of an artist who deploys music to fight oppression. For we cannot imagine a life without music, but it’s the reality for inhabitants of the northern part of Mali. Traditional music was once an integral part of culture here, but in 2012 music was banned. Radio stations were destroyed, instruments banished and Mali musicians forced to go into hiding or to flee. Among those followed by the documentary is the band Songhoy Blues. The members flee to the town of Bamako, where they are discovered by an English ‘talent scout’. Together they tour the whole world, but what they really want is for their music to be heard throughout Mali. Special Guest: Zoumana Diarra

In 2007 werden zes leden van de Franse liefdadigheidsorganisatie Zoe's Ark gearresteerd nadat gebleken was dat zij 103 weeskinderen uit Tsjaad onder valse voorwendselen naar Frankrijk hadden gebracht om die bij Franse gezinnen onder te brengen. De kinderen waren namelijk helemaal geen wees; de aanklacht luidde 'ontvoering'. Beste vriendjes Casper en Emma staat in deze spannende film een groot avontuur te wachten: ze gaan naar Afrika, want daar werken Emma's moeder en haar vriendin Ann als dierenarts. De twee vriendjes nemen natuurlijk hun knuffeltjes Mevrouw Konijn en Welpje mee. Eenmaal daar raken ze al snel bevriend met Anns dochtertje Tiri en haar knuffel Schildpad. Tijdens een safari vinden de drie een verlaten leeuwenjong, dat ze Leo noemen. Maar waar is de moeder van het dier? Casper, Emma en Tiri gaan op zoek.
