De virtuose gitarist Ernest Ranglin is één van de 'godfathers' van de Jamaicaanse muziekcultuur die uiteindelijk de rock steady. reggae en ska hebb en voortgebracht. Nu, na ruim zestig jaar zegt Ranglin vaarwel tegen het podium en zijn fans. Dat doet hij niet alleen! Want Ernest Ranglin presenteert zijn farewell tour samen met enkele grootheden uit de jazz- en wereldmuziek scene. Niemand minder dan de personificatie van de Afrobeat, drummer Tony Allen, de zogenaamde 'redder van de Britse jazz' saxofonist Courtney Pine en de opkomende tovenaar op de basgitaar Ira Coleman zullen Ernest Ranglin vergezellen tijdens zijn farewell tour. Ook zanger Cheikh Lô en de formidabele pianist Alex Wilson maken onderdeel uit van dit sterrenensemble.
