The Dour Festival will include Die Antwoord from South Africa. or the 29th edition of the festival, Dour did its utter best to compile a broad and divers line up, combining tremendous headliners, discoveries, traditions and a huge diversity. De 81-jarige Ghanees is de belichaming van het Afrikaanse geluid. Funk, jazz en afrobeat mixt hij met traditionele muziek. Al zeven decennia is hij bandleider, componist, gitarist en een vooraanstaand figuur in de Afrikaanse muziekscene. Hij komt met een Ghanese band en dat mag je echt niet missen. Kondi Band is het verhaal van een blinde zanger en virtuoos ‘duimpianist’ uit Sierra Leone die via Youtube ontdekt werd door de Amerikaanse (maar van origine Siera Leoonse) DJ Chief Boima. Chief Boima remixte een van zijn nummers, welke vervolgens zoveel opschudding en opwinding veroorzaakte dat de producer een crowdfundingcampagne startte om de Afrikaanse troubadour naar de VS te halen. Dát lukte. In Scheveningen !
