De teksten van Josse De Pauw uit de mond van Junior, een Nigeriaanse ex-voetballer die het theater ziet als kans om niet langer in een fabriek te werken. Een spectrum aan Nederlandse taalbeheersing, een spannende dynamiek tussen auteur en acteur.

In Josse Jnr. voert theatermaker en performer Ahilan Ratnamohan samen met Josse De Pauw en Etuwe Bright Junior onderzoek uit naar het leren van taal en de onvermijdbare machtsrelaties die hieruit voortkomen. Junior is een economisch migrant uit Nigeria en beschouwt het theater als een laatste kans om iets beters te bereiken dan een job in de fabriek na een gefaalde voetbalcarrière. Ahilan is een migrant uit de veel meer geprivilegieerde Australische context, maar met Sri Lankese Tamil-roots. Josse heeft al een leven lang over de hele wereld getourd als theatermaker en is een ster in eigen land.  In Josse Jnr. gaan ze samen op zoek naar wat de teksten van De Pauw, stilistisch zo Europees en abstract, kunnen betekenen op een ander lichaam. Hoe kunnen deze teksten en esthetiek - die ondertussen de Vlaamse canon grotendeels hebben gedefinieerd - een andere poëzie bereiken? Is Vlaams-zijn overdraagbaar? Wie kan een ster worden en onder welke voorwaarden?
