In Marokko is muziek een essentieel onderdeel van allerlei spirituele tradities – van de Gnawa-ritmes uit Afrika tot de muziek van de Jebala in het Noord-Westen. In Safar Nord-Sud komen twee spirituele genres samen. Violist Abderrahim Semlali uit Fes speelt verfijnde Arabo-Andalusische-muziek met het jonge Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest. Uit de Souss-regio komt het Gnawa Oulad Sidi Ensemble om het Gnawa-repertoire te spelen: mystieke muziek met opzwepende ritmes.

Soweto Soul! tributes the musical soul of the townships. In a collaboration of different generations of South-African artists and the Dutch producer/guitarist Joep Pelt different music styles as Pennywhistle Jive, Hip-Hop, Mbaqanga en Kwaito are being melted together.
