Promotie UvA. Mw. Z. Taher Zadeh/Geneeskunde. Mensen van Afrikaanse afkomst uit gebieden ten zuiden van de Sahara hebben door onbekende oorzaak een verhoogde bloeddruk. Zhila Taherzadeh vond dat de kleine vaten van mensen uit deze groep anders reageren op stimulatie. Er is sprake van verhoogde samentrekking van de vaten, waarbij creatinekinase (CK) een belangrijke rol lijkt te spelen.
The Mijikenda Union: Ethnic Politics on the Kenya Coast, c. 1940-1980

When the union was founded, the term Mijikenda was a novelty, an ethnonym created to promote unity among the 'nine tribes' of the southern Kenya coast. By the 1960s, both the ethnonym and the notion that this was a clear political constituency had become commonplace in the 'high politics' of the independent Kenyan state.
