Scars - Sultana Haukim

Body of works created by Sultana Haukim during her residency at the Thami Mnyele Foundation in Amsterdam. Far from being a feminist Sultana Haukim investigates situations of women in our modern world, as an artist who herself bears those scars of being a woman. Haukim presents mannequins as a metaphor of the female body that is seen as an object to please, lifeless and dumb.
