Integrating Music and Visual Aesthetics with Roger Ballen at Unseen

The South African contemporary photographer Roger Ballen (1950), to be represented by Amsterdam-based gallery Alex Daniels – Reflex Amsterdam at Unseen, was born New York City and has lived in Johannesburg, South Africa since the 1970s. Beginning by documenting the small villages of rural South Africa, Ballen’s photography has over the years moved on from documentary photography into the realms of fiction.
