Kane Mathis & House of Water

Kane Mathis has been making trips to The Gambia, west Africa for the past 16 years to study the Kora, a 21-string harp. He holds a diploma from The Tiramang Traditional music school in The Gambia and has appeared on Gambian National Radio and Television. In 2011 his work was recognized by the National Center for Arts and Culture in The Gambia. He is a 2010 Earshot Jazz album of the year winner and a recipient of the 2012 Camber Music America grant.
