Honorary doctorate for judge and human rights advocate Navanethem 'Navi' Pillay (South Africa)

Mandeville Lecture 2016: This year’s Mandeville Lecture will be delivered by Navi Pillay, judge and human rights advocate, who served as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Pillay is awarded an honorary doctorate because of her lifelong fight against inequality, injustice, and the violence perpetrated against vulnerable groups, including anti-apartheid activists, political detainees, and women.
