Nana Adjoa is a sonic explorer and a curious singer songwriter, armed with a deft poeticism and a fierce sense of musicianship. Her vocal delivery conveys intimacy and urgency at the same time: it’s able to warm up a big variety of different sounds, which draw inspiration from modern soul pop, as well as from jazz and rock. The debut album “Big Dreaming Ants” presents wordy and thoughtful lyrics about national identity, protest, love and death.
